Hey there! My name is Kristy and I am a member of the S.T.B.S (Shop-aholic Turned Bargain Shopper) Club. :) I grew up in central California with my mom, brother, and grandparents close by. I'm 23 and I have been married almost two and a half years to my hubby Arthur. We met at Vanguard University of Southern California where I received my BA in Psychology in '08. I still want to pursue more schooling and eventually become an occupational therapist for children.

To help pay for college I started babysitting a lot for many different families. I love kids and would love any job where I am working with them. Little did I know that God had motherhood in-store for me much sooner than I had expected. On March 8th of this year I found out that I am pregnant with our first child. Our little man (or shall I say "big man", my midwife says that she thinks I'm going to have a pretty big baby...uh oh!), is due Nov. 8th, the day after my birthday. :) My doc says that she thinks he will come earlier though based on his measurements, so we will see! We are both very excited to be parents. (Below is a pic of me at around 5 1/2 months pregnant, my belly is a completely inflated basketball now.)

My husband and I live in Orange County in Southern California, which is known as one of the most expensive places to live in the United States! So you can imagine the challenges that I have to face in trying to save money. We have a substantial amount of student loan debt to pay off, as I'm sure is the case for many of you. Also, getting married and having to pay the bills has really changed my point-of-view when it comes to money and savings.

I have a love-hate relationship with money. I love earning money and saving money. I hate that everything ultimately revolves around money. I want to be a good example for Christ in everything that I do, that includes how I manage and distribute money. I firmly believe that everything we have belongs to God, that includes money. Therefore, I believe that giving is very important. God freely gives, so I will follow suit and give as well. Money makes people greedy. The world seems to thrive on the mentality of making more money means to keep more money. When it really should be, make more-give more. Why have we become so selfish?

I feel so blessed with all of the deals that I find online and at the stores. I think that everyone, regardless of income, can stretch their hard-earned dollars and try to help others out as well in the process. We are blessed. We must strive to be selfless amongst the selfish.

I have been an avid reader of blogs for quite awhile now and have had the idea of making my own for about a year. After a long time of working on Tomorrow's Plight to get the layout I wanted (it feels like it took a bazillion years to get a 3-column template! Haha), I officially launched Tomorrow's Plight in July 2009. So yes, my blog is just a baby. I find it exciting though to think of all of the potential growth it can have, and I hope to have you come along for the ride.

So let's grow together, and learn to save, give, love and live...worry-free.
